Spaces Overview
Galllo De Pelea or GDP is the holding company for a group of buildings that house the office for C&G construction as well as many other creative individuals who share space in our compound. Rumor has it that long ago gambling and cock fighting took place on this very ground! Many years have passed and it is now comprised of 10 spaces in all, which vary in size and form, to accommodate the various needs and demands of our tenants.
Space 01
Charlotte Street Foundation was established more than a decade ago in response to needs articulated by artists and those who saw the arts as a valuable creative, social and economic resource to the city. It supports and recognizes outstanding artists in Greater Kansas City; presents, promotes, enhances and encourages the visual, performing and interdisciplinary arts; and fosters economic development in the urban core of Kansas City, MO.
Space 02
Joscelyn Himes Textiles designs and creates one of a kind pieces, from wedding gowns to curtains. Each item is unique, handcrafted, and beautiful. Her studio is open most days for visits.
Space 03
Leyna Loves operates as a full-time studio/showroom for designer Leslie Fraley. Current works include a jewelry line as well as other accessories for women and children.
Space 04
The Westside Speed Shop can perform the most routine service on your vehicle or a complete restoration of your dream car. Chad Burger has years of experience as a top mechanic and is reliable and trustworthy, (all good traits to have for working on your transportation).
Space 05 (Vacancy)
C&G Wood Shop is looking for a tenant to share space and tools. The shop functions as a base for the construction company and would like to partner with a wood working professional looking for studio space.
Space 06
Studio 39 is a hair salon, with a dedicated client base, it has a steady flow of traffic, and many talented stylists. They also feature full service skin care and a nail tech.
Space 07 (vacancy)
The Recording Studio is a co op of local bands utilizing production and practicing space, and even putting out a few cd's. We are currently seeking a new tenant to take over this space as a fully operational studio. It has been sound proofed and features iso booths for separate tracking.
Space 08
Rooster Labs develops innovative, premium-quality lubricants and polishes for the international shooting trade. Their products are designed with your health and our environment in mind.
Space 09
La Esquina is a gallery affiliated with the Urban Culture Project, consisting of high-ceilinged, white box/black box, conducive to staged performances – dance, theater, music – as well as large-scale exhibitions and installations, video screenings, public programs and bigger events. Garage doors on opposite sides of the space allow for opening the space to the city, creating a flow between indoor and outdoor activities.
Space 10 (vacancy)
The Storage Facility is 2500 square feet of clean space with 9 ft ceilings and garage door access.
