Intent
Sustainable / green building: A strong conviction of C&G is to be good stewards of the earth we have been blessed with. We strive on every project to reuse/recycle items & to encourage energy efficient practices with our clients, architects, employees and sub contractors. We live these principles and strive to be better at it daily. We have been about this business for some time and do not view this as a fad or trend. We have achieved LEED certification on our projects and we are comfortable and familiar with this process and its potential rewards.
Connection with the Arts: We regularly partner with the arts in Kansas City either through contributions or in kind donation of time and materials. We see the importance and understand the value of this culture and its contribution to a vibrant and dynamic city. “All art, whether it pleases us or not, helps to add color, excitement, joy, or sadness and, most often, a sense of awe to our life's experience” (Henry O. Community and neighborhood: We live and work in the Westside, and have been blessed to be part of the blossoming neighborhood around us. This area is rich in culture and remains to be a place where community is truly walked out. Our friends and neighbors in this area are a part of our lives and regularly stop in to stay connected or to share a drink. Since we purchased our building in 2006, we have had an annual block party that brings local businesses together with the surrounding neighbors. These events have grown to over a thousand in attendance.
